Transit of Venus
By Gary Pitts
The Transit of Venus, which is when the planet Venus passes between the Earth and the Sun, occurs this evening. In our region, the best time to view the transit is around sunset. The visible passage is expected to begin around 5:00 P.M.

You can find tips on how to safely view the event here.
This is last time Venus will pass between the Earth and Sun for over 100 years. The next transit is expected to occur December 11th, 2117. It's safe to say this may be your last chance.
