Paducah, KY – The three top Republican candidates contending for US Senator Jim Bunning's seat were in Paducah Saturday, participating in a debate forum. Trey Grayson, Bill Johnson and Rand Paul shared many similar views, favoring: limited government, strong military, balanced budgets, and bolstering border protection. The Paducah Sun reports abortion was the hot-button issue, with all three claiming to be against it. Grayson and Johnson both criticized Paul's position and repeatedly brought the issue up during unrelated questions. Paul claims his position has been distorted and that he has been endorsed by a national group that promotes biblical principles.
