Todd Faces More Trials
By Angela Hatton
Murray, KY – A business man opposing Paducah's smoking ban will get a chance to speak out against the measure. Side Pockets Billiards owner Dickie Todd says the city's ban counts as a zoning ordinance and requires approval by the Paducah Planning Commission. Todd's attorney Jeffrey Ian Smith says the city argues the ban in a public health law, and has asked Judge Jeff Hines to give a summary judgment against Todd. The case comes before McCracken County Circuit Court October 24. Todd also faces the second of two trials for violating the smoking ban. That case goes to District Court November 24.
