Todd County Among 6 Beshear Draws for Post Election Audit

Kentucky Office of the Attorney General

Attorney General Andy Beshear has selected six counties to participate in a postelection audit, including one in western Kentucky.

The state attorney general is required by law to conduct the postelection investigation in no fewer than 5 percent of Kentucky's counties following each primary and general election.

Beshear announced today (Wed) that the counties drawn randomly are Anderson, Breathitt, Garrard, Laurel, Shelby and Todd Counties.

The audit is a search for any potential irregularities during the May 17 primary election.

The attorney general's office received 119 calls concerning the May primary. Five calls are still under review by the attorney general's office.
