TN Representative Named Subcommittee Chair

Washington, D.C – West Tennessee's U.S. Representative John Tanner was named Chair of the Subcommittee on Social Security Tuesday. The panel is a subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee, on which Tanner has served since 1997. Tanner is founding member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrats. He also serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and as President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
