As primary polling in Tennessee winds down, election officials report record-breaking absentee and early voting totals.

The Volunteer State is one of several holding elections today as part of Super Tuesday. Roughly 385,000 people cast their ballot before the polls opened this morning, compared to about 200,000 in 2012.

Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s office predicts turnout could surpass one million by the time the polls close at 7 tonight.
