TN Highway Officials Increase Efforts To Decrease Distracted Drivers

  Tennessee law enforcement reports more than than 900 citations have been written in an effort to crack down on distracted driving.

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol partnered with local law enforcement for the state’s second bus tour observing motorists for traffic violations.

The THP provided two buses to law enforcement to watch for violations and communicate with ground units to initiate enforcement action.

THSO Director Vic Donoho said the office’s mission is to change driver behavior through increased education and enforcement.The first bus tour, conducted in April,  yielded 224 citations.
