Three Fort Campbell Soldiers Killed in Jordan

Three Fort Campbell Soldiers supporting Operation Inherent Resolve were killed in Jordan. 

According to a news release from the U.S. Department of Defense, staff sergeants Matthew Lewellen, Kevin McEnroe and James Moriarty died Friday of wounds sustained when their convoy came under fire entering a Jordanian military base.

  • Staff Sgt. Matthew C. Lewellen, 27, of Lawrence, Kan.;
  • Staff Sgt. Kevin J. McEnroe, 30, of Tucson, Ariz.; and
  • Staff Sgt. James F. Moriarty, 27, of Kerrville, Texas.

They were assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, Airborne division.
The incident is under investigation.
