Thayer: Beshear 'Yet to Walk the Walk'

By KPR

Frankfort, KY – Governor Beshear's state of the commonwealth speech Wednesday night didn't win any points with one central Kentucky lawmaker. The governor talked about past bi-partisan successes and the need for that to continue. Scott county Senator Damon Thayer he was surprised when the governor spoke about problems in the state two years ago.

"Sometimes I feel like he's in some strange parallel universe cause I don't think things were that bad two years ago and the other thing is you know this governor is very good at talking the when it comes to bi-partisanship but he is yet to walk the walk."

Thayer claims Beshear has serious trust issues with Senate republicans. House speaker Greg Stumbo expressed confidence that lawmakers from the two chambers can work together to iron out solutions for the financial challenges facing the state.
