Tennessee State Library and Archives Launches WWI Memorabilia Digitization Project

The Tennessee State Library and Archives is looking to digitize records of how World War I affected Tennesseans.

Archivists will travel throughout the Volunteer State to scan contributors’ diaries, uniforms, letters and other artifacts related to the 20th century conflict that involved more than 30 countries.

The effort is open to the public and starts April 15 with a curating session in Nashville. Archivists will offer tips on how to preserve artifacts brought in.

“Over Here, Over There: Tennesseans in the First World War” is similar to another ongoing Library and Archives project to catalog Civil War memorabilia.
