TED Radio Hour and TEDxMurrayStateU on WKMS

Murray, KY- Murray State’s listener-supported, educational radio service 91.3, WKMS introduced the TED Radio Hour to 7 p.m. on its Sunday programming schedule in early 2013. Hosted by NPR’s Guy Raz, TED Radio Hour is based on TED Talks given by riveting speakers worldwide. Each weekly radio episode, hosted by Raz, is centered on a common theme and injects soundscapes and conversations that bring these ideas to life.

TED has created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Murray State’s inaugural TEDx event will be held in Freed Curd Auditorium on November 13 at 1:30 p.m. The theme of TEDxMurrayStateU will be social science, discussing various topics ranging from leadership and management to branding and communication. The presentation will feature two TED Talks videos as well as three live speakers, including Phillip Van Hooser, Kayla Barrett and Dr. Dave Gesler.

WKMS has been invited to make an audio recording of the TEDxMurrayStateU. The sound will be uploaded online at wkms.org in the Speaker's Corner found under the “News” dropdown.

WKMS serves listeners in the Four Rivers Region of western Kentucky, southernmost Illinois and northwestern Tennessee with non-stop news and music.
