Paducah, KY – McCracken County's Reidland-Farley Fire Department Board of Trustees yesterday unanimously voted to fire Chief Richard Tapp for inefficiency and violating the terms of his employment contract. The board heard evidence that Tapp has been unable or unwilling to perform his duties for several months now after failing to contact the board after his unpaid 90-day medical leave expired. The Paducah Sun reports Tapp did not attend the meeting and will be notified via certified letter. Trustees are expected to appoint a new chief at the beginning of next month.
