Survey Says . . . SkyWest

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – Officials at Paducah's Barkley Regional Airport are preparing to send off results from an online survey to help decide the airport's future air service. Since the summer, American Airlines' SkyWest and Delta's Mesaba have been bidding on service at Barkley. Marketing Director Jackie Jones says 59-percent of survey respondents prefer SkyWest's service to Chicago over 41-percent that prefer Mesaba's service to Memphis. Jones says the results will be a part of the factors the federal Department of Transportation uses to decide which carrier should get the contract. Airport officials plan to send off the report later this week. The DOT should issue a decision in Mid-October.
