The Council on Postsecondary Education presidential search committee will continue its work Thursday to find a replacement for Bob King who is retiring this summer.  King took over the reins of the statewide university governing organization in 2009.

Council Associate Vice President Travis Powell says a higher education consulting firm will be engaged to assist.  He says the job description for CPE president hasn’t changed a lot. “I mean we have one that we’ve used before for the prior search that resulted in President King’s hiring almost ten years ago.  But, the position hasn’t changed significantly since then,” said Powell.

Powell says it’s hard to say how many candidates will be called in for interviews or when a replacement for King will be hired.  It could be late summer to early fall before a hiring occurs.
