Sounds Good Week Ahead: March 16 - 20

Here's a rundown of our featured guests on Sounds Good this week:

Monday, March 16

Playhouse in the Park Murray is producing The Diary of Anne Frank this weekend and next, so we speak with Director Don Fleming and cast member Amanda Futrell, who portrays Mrs. Van Daan, one of the group in hiding with Ms. Frank.

In our second Racer Scholar Profile we meet the Hutson School of Agriculture's Dr. Shea Porr who engages students in equine research projects that introduce them to business and science experts along the way.

Tuesday, March 17

We'll get a Murray State Racers Basketball update with "Voice of the Racers" Neal Bradley. They'll look ahead to the first round of the National Invitation Tournament game this week after being denied an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament over the weekend.

Award-winning Kentucky New Era Opinion Editor Jennifer Brown joins Kate Lochte to salute Sunshine Week.  It's a national observance to encourage transparency in government and an appreciation for state open meetings and open records laws, as well as the federal Freedom of Information Act. 

Wednesday, March 18

Paducah artist and resident Bill Renzulli shares a commentary on "train of thought." 

Thursday, March 19

Dr. Becky Nastally of Bloom Behavior in Paducah tells Kate Lochte about the process of autism diagnosis.

Friday, March 20

Kate Lochte speaks with Nashville-based author Bethany Haley Williams on her book The Color of Grace: How One Woman's Brokenness Brought Healing and Hope to Child Survivors of War, with a focus on war-affected children in Africa.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
