Sheriff Deputies/KSP Make Drug Bust in Calloway County

Calloway County Sheriff

Authorities say a Hazel, Ky man has been arrested for suspected marijuana trafficking in Calloway County.

Last Friday, Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a residence on Murray-Paris Road on a domestic disturbance call.  53-year-old Donald Carson of Hazel was arrested for Assault 4th Degree, Menacing and Terroristic Threatening.  Upon searching the home, deputies discovered five pounds of suspected marijuana, some of which is considered medical grade.  Deputy Richard Palmer says the term ‘suspected’ is being used pending results from the Kentucky State Police crime lab.  $38 thousand in cash and multiple firearms were also discovered at the residence.  Carson was then charged additionally with Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
