Sen. Roy Herron has $675,000 for Congressional Bid

By AP

Dresden, TN – Democratic Tennessee State Senator Roy Herron says he has accumulated $675,000 for his bid to succeed U.S. Rep. John Tanner in Congress. Herron says the total includes $425,000 in contributions and a $250,000 check he wrote his campaign. He says all the money has been raised in the month since Tanner announced he wouldn't seek a 12th term this year. Campaign finance laws don't allow Herron to transfer the money raised for his gubernatorial campaign to his congressional campaign. Herron says he's refunded almost all individual contributions to his campaign for governor.
