School Closings & Delays - Thursday

We'll keep this post updated as we become notified of closings and delays for Thursday, Feb. 6, due to winter weather. Updated: 11:04 a.m.

Ky. Schools: Thursday, February 6

Murray State's Henderson Campus will be closed the remainder of the day. All other MSU campuses will remain on schedule.

Ballard County Schools closed.

Caldwell County Schools closed.

Calloway County Schools closed.

Carlisle County Schools closed.

Christian County Schools closed.

Dawson Springs Independent Closed

Graves County Schools closed. The Graves County Middle School Health Fair will be rescheduled.

Fulton County Schools closed.

Hickman County Schools closed.

Hopkins County Schools closed.

Livingston County Schools closed.

Marshall County Schools closed.

McCracken County Schools closed.

Trigg County Schools closed.

Union County Schools closed. 

University Heights Academy - One Hour Delay 

Webster County Schools closed.

In Illinois, all Massac County Unit #1 schools are closed. All staff report to their buildings at 9:15 a.m. unless directed otherwise by their principal.

School Sports

The McCracken County vs Trigg County Basketball game on Thursday has been cancelled. 

Other Closings:

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry will remain closed until further notice. Captain Ed Floyd said he had been closing the ferry on a day-to-day basis, but the rest of this week's forecast makes it clear that the ferry will not be able to operate for several days. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide timely notice when the ferry service is able to resume.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
John Null is the host and creator of Left of the Dial. From 2013-2016, he also served as a reporter in the WKMS newsroom.
Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
