Reidland High and Middle schools are back in session today after the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department found that what was reported as a threat was actually two students discussing a video game. The department reports that yesterday afternoon detectives obtained the author’s name of a letter originally sent to The Paducah Sun with concerns about safety at Reidland High School. A student had written the letter under direction of one of the teachers who had been told about an overheard conversation between two students about bombs. But the students’ conversation wasn’t about threatening the school. It was about the video game Minecraft. After the sheriff’s department was provided with information about the remaining witnesses, officials realized it was a threat that had already been investigated and cleared almost a week ago.
