Reidland-Farley Fire Board Steps Up Effort

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – The Reidland-Farley Fire Department board of trustees met last night and implemented a number of initiatives designed to bolster the organization's credibility. They approved a special audit of all checks issued over the past year to Chief Richard Tapp and former employee Justin Adams. The board voted to fire Adams, who they claim hasn't cooperated in providing information on the status of a federal grant for a rescue boat. What to do with the boat will be decided by a three-member committee. The Paducah Sun reports the board also reversed a reorganization plan instituted by Chief Tapp last month, which demoted several veteran firefighters.
