The Murray State University men’s basketball team extended its winning streak to 22 over the weekend - still the second-longest winning streak in the nation behind the undefeated University of Kentucky Wildcats.
The Racers (24-4, 14-0) beat rival Austin Peay State University 89-54 Saturday at the CFSB Center in Murray.
MSU will go for 23 in a row this Thursday in Murray against Eastern Illinois University. A win against the Panthers would tie a school and Ohio Valley Conference winning streak record. Thursday's game will be the final regular season home game for seniors Jonathan Fairell, T.J. Sapp and Jarvis Williams.
The Racers have already wrapped up a 24th OVC regular season championship.
