Racers Move Up in Rankings
By Gary Pitts
The Murray State Men's Basketball team is creeping back up in the national rankings following two wins last week. The Racers moved up two spots in the AP poll to number 14, and two in the ESPN poll to number 12 after successfully navigating past Southeast Missouri State and then number 16 ranked St. Mary's.
Meanwhile, the Racer's star point guard Isaiah Canaan is in the running for another national award. Canaan is on the watchlist for the Lou Henson Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. Canaan, who is one of the best 3-point shooters in NCAA men's Division I basketball, is also in the running for the Oscar Robertson Player of the Year Award, and the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
