Racers Coming Home for CIT Tournament Second Round

The Murray State Racers have been paired with the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks in the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT) at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky., Monday (March 24).

Tip time is set for 7 p.m. as the Racers return home after winning their first round CIT game Wednesday at Missouri State 66-63 in Springfield, Mo.

The CIT started as a 32-team event and is now down to 16 teams. The game will mark the latest home game for the Racers in their 16 seasons at the CFSB Center.

The Racers are 19-11 wil be looking to secure a school-record fifth straight 20-win season.

UNO (17-14) won a first round CIT game at home over North Dakota 91-75 in Omaha, Neb. The Mavericks are members of the Summit League.

“I want to personally thank Jim Carter, Shelley Todd and Bob Scales of the CFSB Center and everyone else that helped make this event work out so that we can host a game,” said MSU Director of Athletics Allen Ward. “I want to encourage our fans to come out and support our team and show the CIT what Racer Basketball is all about.” 

Tickets are available at the MSU Ticket Office in the CFSB Center or by calling (270) 809-3000. Tickets may also be purchased online at GoRacers.com. Ticket prices for the game are $15, $10 and $7.

The game can be heard over the air on Racer Radio on Froggy 103.7 FM and online at Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com. Online streaming video will be provided by MSU Athletics and can been seen at CollegeInsider.com. The audio and video streams are free.
