Quilt Show and Contest to Stay in Paducah
By Carrie Pond
Paducah, KY – After being in limbo for months, officials say the 2009 American Quilter's Society Annual Show and Contest will take place in Paducah. AQS President Meredith Schroeder tells the Paducah Sun the quilt show will stay for its 25th consecutive year. The show's continued presence in Paducah was put in jeopardy after participants in last year's shows lodged numerous complaints about the condition of the Julian Carroll Convention Center and Executive Inn. Now that Inn ownership is set to change hands by the beginning of next week, and renovations are slated to finish up before the April show date, Schroeder says she's comfortable to move forward in Paducah.
