Puppies Sound Good second Wednesdays monthly on WKMS. Kathy Hodge from the Humane Society of Calloway County brought in two very sweet and cuddly dogs today. Lady is a Pekingese Mix, and a recent mother. Her puppies turn 8 weeks old today! She was curious about the radio station, adventurous but calm and happily greeted everyone she met. Kenai is a baby Dachshund/Beagle Mix who was a little nervous when he first came up, but it was his first adventure. He loved being cuddled and fell asleep in Todd's arms during the conversation. Kenai (from Petfinder): Meet Kenai! He is a dachshund/beagle mix who was born on January 17th, 2013. The puppies look so different, so we do believe that there were multiple fathers. We received his mother, Bella when she was very pregnant in January. She had 7 healthy puppies via cesarean section. Bella has such a nice temperament, so we expect that her puppies will as well. She is a lucky girl and all of her hard work has been rewarded with a wonderful new home once the puppies are of age! All of the puppies have the characteristic short legs of a Dachshund and the fluffy hair of a Pomeranian. They will probably be medium-sized dogs when they are grown. They will be ready for adoption March 14th when they are 8 weeks old. More information about Kenai.
Lady (from Petfinder): Meet Lady! She is a 17 pound Pekingese mix that came to us at the beginning of January. Lady was an owner surrender at the shelter with "medical reasons" listed. We soon learned that she was pregnant and expecting puppies any time. About 2 weeks later lady surprised her foster parents with 4 absolutely adorable tiny puppies. Lady is probably about 1 1/2 years old. We think that she is some sort of Pekingese mix. Lady is a sweetheart and loves everyone. She has done her duty as a mom and is almost ready for her new home! Lady loves children, cats, and other dogs. She has a peppy personality and is the first to jump on your lap. She will make someone special a great pal and companion for life.
