Mayfield, KY – A Mayfield locomotive repair depot has finished work on the first of fifty-two Chicago commuter trains. The Mayfield division of Progress Rail has begun a contract to rebuild the trains, which transport Chicagoans back and forth to work. Human Resources Manager Bob McNutt tells the Mayfield Messenger employees are grateful for the work. The company had been threatening layoffs and cutbacks.
