Pre-Trial Conference in Trigg County Quadruple Murder Case Tomorrow

Facebook - Joy Champion

The defense council for a man and woman charged in the murder of a Trigg County family is scheduled to teleconference with the judge and prosecutor in the case tomorrow morning.

36-year-old Ryan Champion faces multiple counts of capital murder and kidnapping stemming from the October 26th shooting deaths of his parents, Lindsey and Joy Champion of Cadiz, and his sister Emily.

He’s also accused of hiring then killing accomplice Vito Riservato at the home.

Commonwealth Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins says if found guilty, the state will seek the death penalty.

Ann Plotkin, a friend of Champion’s, is charged with being complicit in the murders.  Police believe she had knowledge of the crimes and failed to report it.

Ovey-Wiggins says the judge may set trial dates for each during the conference.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
