The Paducah Power System Board appointed a new member Tuesday night . The City Commission excepted Mayor Gayle Kaler’s nominee, Edward Hely, who was chosen largely due to his business experience.
“I really felt like, right now, the power board, electric plant board, needed someone with good financial business sense more so than the engineering portion of it,” Kaler said. “So, I think he’ll bring a lot to the board and help with some of those tough decisions they’re making.”
Kaler says seven people interviewed for the power board vacancies, answering questions primarily related to the candidates’ financial backgrounds submitted by Paducah citizens. The commission also appointed Edward Musselman to the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority and Jeff Holland to the Paducah-McCracken County Riverport Authority.
