By Casey Northcutt
Paducah, KY – Plans to build a new McCracken County high school have progressed quickly in the past few weeks. McCracken County Schools Public Relations Director Cheryl Lawson says the school board recently purchased a 139-acre plot of land off U.S. 60 for 1.25 million dollars. She says the school itself will cost an excess of 50 million dollars and will open to students in the fall of 2012. At the moment, official are still designing the facility, which they will base on small learning communities found in two schools in South Carolina and Maine.
