Paul Officially Files Paperwork for Senate Run

Frankfort, KY – Rand Paul, son of former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, has officially entered the GOP primary race for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Jim Bunning. Paul's campaign manager turned in the candidacy papers and a $500 check to the secretary of state's office yesterday afternoon. Paul has raised more than $1.7 million for his campaign largely by reaching out to people who had supported his father's unsuccessful presidential bid.
