Paris, TN – Paris, Tennessee Mayor Sam Tharpe has been appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen to serve on the Land Between the Lakes Advisory Board. Tharpe has accepted the 5-year term. He is one of two out the 17 voting members on the board that are appointed by the Governor of Tennessee. The board advises the secretary of agriculture on land use to promote public participation and how to promote environmental education. The board's next meeting is scheduled for October 29th at Kenlake State Park.
