Paducah, KY – Chances that next year's American Quilters Society Quilt Show will be held again in Paducah are improving. Show co-founder Bill Schroeder says his meeting last week with state Tourism Secretary Marcheta Sparrow was productive. The Paducah Sun reports Schroeder met with Sparrow asking for grant options to pay for a 150,000 dollar temporary pavilion in the parking lot of the Julian Carroll Convention Center. Several details still need to be worked out and Schroeder won't officially say the show is on. The Quilt Show has been a staple in Paducah for 25 years and brings some 25,000 tourists to annually western Kentucky.
