Paducah Symphony Orchestra Lights the Stage with Stravinsky, Brahms, Ravel, and More

      The Paducah Symphony Orchestra will be presenting Stravinsky's "The Firebird!" alongside works from several Romantic composers. Conductor, Raffaele Ponti, speaks with George Eldred about the upcoming concert and its musical context. 

         Maestro Raffaele Ponti and George Eldred discuss the PSO's upcoming concert. Pieces featured in the concert include Igor Stravinsky's "The Firebird!," "Mother Goose" by Maurice Ravel, and works by Brahms and Bruckner. Ponti provides historical context to the evening's program, which will be held on Saturday, March 10th, at 7:30 pm in the Carson Center.

George Eldred has lived most of his life in Princeton, Kentucky except for a 15 year stint of studying music in Sewanee, Tennessee and Lawrence, Kansas and working in camera and photo finishing shops in the Washington, DC area. George first went on the air around the 4th grade when the local station in Princeton used to get elementary school students to read children's books from the library on the air.
