Paducah Rotary Club Seeks Volunteers to Build 4,000 Square-Foot Community Playground

The Rotary Club of Paducah is seeking volunteers to construct a 4,000 square foot community playground next month. The $200,000 dollar project is being constructed as part of the Paducah Health Park project.

According to the Rotary Club, features will include a rope wall, rock wall, castles, swings, slides and monkey bars. The park will be located at 13th Street and Martin Luther King Drive. 

The build event will take place June 20 through 26 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. on the last day.

Funding for the playground comes from the Rotary Club of Paducah, Rotary District 6710 Grants and individual and corporate donations.

How to get involved

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
