A Paducah utility is returning $2.1 million to its customers.
Paducah Power System is decreasing the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) from 1.65 cents per kilowatt hour to 1.27 cents starting July 1.
The PPS Board of Directors made the decision while approving a budget for the next fiscal year. Residential customers should see the rate relief reflected in their monthly bills, at a total kilowatt hour rate of 12.42 cents.
PCA is a billing practice by utilities used to collect enough revenue to cover wholesale power costs without changing base rates every month.
