Paducah Police ID Body Found in Wooded Area

paducahky.gov

Update Friday at Noon:

Police say they have identified the body found in a wooded area of Paducah Wednesday night.

An identification card found in the man’s clothing led detectives to believe the man was Clint L. Sampson of Wall Street in Paducah.

A member of Sampson’s family told detectives Sampson had not been seen since the end of May.  Detectives also learned Sampson frequented the woods where his body was found.

From an autopsy performed this morning (Friday) in Louisville, the medical examiner found no evidence of trauma to the body and foul play is not suspected in Sampson’s death.

Original Post:
Paducah Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in a heavily wooded area. A man was in the woods near Legion Drive Wednesday night searching for his missing drone.

He instead located the remains of a white male in a severe state of decomposition and called the police.

Due to the condition of the body a cause of death has not yet been determined.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Louisville.
