Paducah Police say a shots-fired call led to the arrest of a man on a repeat charge of trafficking in marijuana.

PPD were called around 9:48pm last night to a shots-fired in the area of Fountain Avenue and Madison Street.  Officers were directed to a home in the 400 block of Fountain Avenue.

One resident, 21-year-old Lavance Davenport Jr., said someone had fired a gun at him.  Officers checked a nearby vehicle for bullet holes and spotted a bag of marijuana on the floorboard, to which Davenport admitted to owning.

Officers also found a 9mm handgun in a nearby trash can and 34 shell casings in the street.

Davenport later admitted to firing shots into the air.

Davenport was charged with trafficking in marijuana (his third arrest for that charge), first-degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.  He was booked in McCracken County Regional Jail.
