Paducah, Hickman Riverports Receive Maintenance Grants

KYTC

Five western Kentucky riverports in need of maintenance have been awarded a total of $500,000 in grants from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Nearly half of that amount goes to the Henderson Riverport Authority for crane restoration, but ports in Paducah, Eddyville, Hickman and Owensboro also received funding.

The Paducah Riverport Authority will receive more than $85,000 that will go toward a dock dredging and the replacement of a truck scale. Hickman’s port authority also received in excess of $85,000 for a dredging and a crane bridge resurfacing.

The Eddyville Riverport Authority will receive $75,000 for truck queuing and grain pit improvements, while the Owensboro port has been awarded nearly $34,000 toward an inner loop road construction project.

The grants are a part of the state's Riverport Financial Assistance Trust Fund, which is administered by KYTC.
