"Fall in love with Paducah" this Valentine's Day. The Main Street program has coordinated with commercial shops and non-profit organizations to make a romantic package of events available to couples and families on Saturday, February 14. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte speaks with Paducah Downtown Development Specialist Melinda Winchester about the citywide effort to celebrate the day with a variety of activities.

Melinda Winchester says her goal over the past year has been to form partnerships between the businesses that inhabit downtown Paducah. She says, "We all have the same goals and that is to make Paducah a success... I think that the collaboration and the partnership theme is really starting to catch on with everyone."

There are 29 businesses participating in a Valentine's Day raffle of goods, which began January 17 and runs through February 13. For Valentine's Day itself, artists have crafted creative experiences for couples. Some of these include a couple's spin on the pottery wheel, a botanicals in clay exhibit, a masquerade, a performance from the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, and an opportunity to get married at the River Discovery Center (which several couples have signed up for).
