The City of Paducah is moving forward with the first phase of rehabilitation for the City Hall. Commissioners approved the project Tuesday.
The first phase looks to address the roof, canopy, furnace, air conditioning systems, windows and facade. The project is estimated to cost more than $4.8 million dollars. The funding comes from the solid waste fund, reserves in the general fund and remaining funds from a renovation design project with architect group RATIO. Nearly $482,500 dollars is estimated to come from potential historic tax credits, should the building be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Famed architect Edward Durrell Stone designed the Paducah City Hall. He also designed the Radio City Music Hall in New York City and the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
