Paducah City Commission Selects James Arndt As City Manager

Update May 29: The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved an emergency ordinance for the employment of James Arndt to serve as City Manager. The agreement is for an initial three-year period beginning July 1. 

He will have a base salary of $137,500 plus benefits and a performance evaluation in six months. Arndt currently serves as City Administrator for Effingham, Illinois.

The Paducah City Commission has selected a new city manager after a months-long search.

James Arndt was selected Tuesday after meeting with residents and interviews with the City Commission.

Arndt currently serves as the City Administrator for Effingham, Illinois.

He fills the vacancy left by former city manager Jeff Pederson who resigned in December after serving in the role for seven years.

Arndt moves forward with contract negotiations before starting the position.

He was selected from a group of 32 candidates from across the country.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007.
