Paducah, KY – According to the American Community Gardening Association, there are more than five thousand community gardens throughout the United States, clustered mainly on the east and west coasts. But more and more are turning up in cities and communities in between. Lexington and Bowling Green, Kentucky are two such examples in the Commonwealth, and now Paducah is adding its name to the list with a series of plots on the corner of 14th and Madison Streets. The city's Parks Services is coordinating the project, and I spoke with Parks Maintenance Superintendent Trace Stevens to find out where the idea came from and how the garden will grow.
