Packaged Liquor Sales Start Soon in Murray

Package liquor sales could begin as early as next week in Murray. Earlier this week the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control issued the first packaged alcohol licenses for Murray liquor stores. Currently, some grocery stores and gas stations have retail malt beverage licenses which allow beer sales. City ABC Coordinator Kendra Clere says the city will formally issue the licenses after she completes the business inspections. Clere says the state has issued all 7 of the quota licenses available for the city, though she says one has been held up by paperwork.

Below is the list of the five new stores that will sell packaged liquor. Not listed are Rite-Aid, which has the 6th liquor license, and the 7th license has been held up.
