Obama Telecast Upsetting Some McCracken Parents
Paducah, KY – President Barack Obama's plan to speak to schoolchildren via a nationwide telecast next Tuesday is spurring some McCracken County parents to phone school officials. McCracken County School public relations director Cheryl Lawson says it's up to each school, each teacher, and each student to decide whether to participate. She says the school board itself had somewhere around 10 calls and some of the schools had a few more. To put this in perspective, McCracken County has some 7,200 students. President Obama will be broadcast live at 11:00 am on C-SPAN cable television network and in a webcast available on the White House's web page.
