NWS Paducah Reports Record Highs Today

The National Weather Service in Paducah says temperatures have topped 100 degrees today in a reading at Barkley Regional Airport. NWS tweets that the previous record was 98 degrees in 1946. 

A heat advisory is in effect regionwide until 7 this evening. Index between 105 to 110 are expected. Take precaution to stay out of dangerous levels of heat, wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. 

Tennessee Highway Patrol iswarning via Twitterthat heat indexes are over 100 degrees and advises drivers to not leave children unattended in their car. TN drivers can call *THP (*847) for highway assistance.
