NTSB Issues Report Into Crash That Killed Owensboro Pilot

Google Maps

The National Transportation Safety Board has issued a report on the crash that killed an Owensboro pilot. A preliminary report by the NTSB says Owensboro physician Robert Dalzell had purchased the plane only two days before the May 30th crash.

He had left the Owensboro Regional Airport and landed at Falls of Rough in Grayson County about 35 minutes later. A friend told investigators that he saw Dalzell depart later from the Rough River Airport and said the plane sound normal and the engine was ‘running strong.’

The initial NTSB report does not say what caused the plane to crash in a wooded area of Hancock County. A final report is still several months away.
