Nortonville, KY – The Nortonville City Council has called for their mayor's resignation. Following a closed session at last night's meeting, council member Boyd Mackey asked for the resignation of two city clerks due to poor job performance. Mayor Jamie Noel attempted to block the measure, but the council approved it unanimously. The Madisonville Messenger reports after a heated exchange, members then unanimously voted for Noel's resignation, citing the same dereliction of duty. The mayor called for more proof of his negligence before walking out of the meeting.
