New Sheriff's Office Offers Improved Access

By Chris Taylor

Murray, KY – The Calloway County Sheriff's Department tax office has been open at its new location now for a week, and Sheriff Bill Marcum says he hopes to have the rest of the department moved by the first week of December. The Paducah Sun reports that officials hope the new location at 701 Olive Street will provide better accessibility, additional parking, and room to upgrade the 911 communications system. The new building, which used to house the Calloway County Health Department, comprises 6 thousand square feet, versus the old one on Maple Street, which has only about 22 hundred. The new building became available when the health department received a grant to build a new facility off of South 4th Street.
