Jeffersontown Police Chief Richard Sanders is the new Commissioner for Kentucky State Police.
Sanders joins KSP with more than 40 years of experience from federal and local law enforcement agencies. He held executive leadership positions for the past two decades and was named Kentucky’s Chief of the Year in 2012. Jeffersontown Police patrol and special operations commander William Payne is the new Deputy Commissioner under Sanders. Payne brings more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and police operations, including nearly 19 years with KSP.
