The man who lost to Marshall County judge-executive Mike Miller in last November’s election has once again filed to run for the post after the longtime county judge’s death.
Republican Kevin Neal is a veteran of the United States Marines and Paducah Police Department officer. In a news release issued on Facebook, he said it’s bittersweet to be running for the position again after becoming friends with Miller during last year’s campaign.
Gov. Steve Beshear appointed Miller’s wife, Chyrill, to serve through November’s election. Candidates have until January 27 to file for May’s primary. Independent candidates can file through August 11.
